What is Test Pattern?
It’s a a bi-weekly look at the monster movies, TV shows, cult films, and horror stuff that keeps YOU up at night! Monster Kids Jacob and Tab have a new theme every other week, with a focus on in-depth looks at genre filmmaking and macabre offerings that include favorite creature features, cult films, B-movies, and arthouse films (with occasional forays into the outer realms of horror, such as true crime).
WHat you will hear
genre films
We pair two films which share a theme and discuss the behind the scenes history, our thoughts on the films, and individual themes we’ve gleaned from each film. We cover classic horror, cult films, indie, and arthouse horror.
Our Godzilla Level patrons have the opportunity to choose the films for one episode and our Shin Godzilla Level patrons can guest on the episode for which they chose the films.
Horror Novels
We do a deep dive on a book and, if there is a film adaption, explore the adaption as well.
True Crime
Detailed examinations of true crime cases. The episodes focus on the facts of the case and our intention is to avoid sensationalism of the case or glorification of the criminals.
Monster Kid Mailbag
We read your answers to our questions, answer listener questions, talk about what we’ve been up to, and play games! Call the hotline! Send us an email! Hit us up on social media!

Jacob
Jacob is a gorehound and a video gaming wordsmith with a penchant for Young Adult Fiction and good conversation about topics ranging from psychology and philosophy to anime and tabletop wargaming. He teaches fifth grade while keeping it really real. He also loves cats, especially his cats Kitty Pryde and Grey.
Tab
Tab is a pop culture junkie, film nerd, and true crime fanatic. She works in IT and can usually be found watching movies, cross-stitching, or sometimes both! She is married and has four adorable cats – Darby, Zed, Hecate, and Khoshekh.
She is secretly three bats in a trenchcoat.
